Gift-Receiving Tips from Successful Creators
We asked our thousands of creators for their best tips for maximising the amount of gifts they received — and here’s what they told us.
Tip 1: Feature your gifts
The more your fans feel appreciated, the more likely they are to purchase gifts for you. Posting a photo with your gift or showing it in your stream, will increase the amount of gifts you receive by 3.5 times. One creator told us, “My best advice would be to acknowledge that a special person sent you a gift. Post a picture of the gift and say how much you appreciate it.”
We have made this easier for you through our Twitter integration feature, which will automatically post a ‘thank you’ tweet to your timeline when a fan purchases something for you (enable the integration now by going to your integrations tab)!
Further ways to show your appreciation are by thanking the fan directly in the photo/stream, thanking them privately, or giving them free subscriptions or content.
Doing this will also alert other fans to your wishlist and entice those who may have not purchased something before, to do so.
Tip 2: Tell fans about your wishlist
It’s important to remind your fans about your wishlist every so often and have the link in an easily accessible location. It’s a great idea to have it in your bio or Linktree, but putting it in your posts will draw more attention to it.

Don’t be shy to mention your wishlist during your stream or in videos and posts — fans will feel directly spoken to and may persuade them to purchase a gift.
Tip 3: Add fan-suggested items
Don’t ignore fan suggestions! They want to buy you a gift, so make it easy for them. Add that item to your wishlist and make them aware that they can buy it for you there.
If you haven’t had specific suggestions, but know fans want to buy you items of their choosing, direct them to the ‘suggest a gift’ function on your Throne profile which allows fans to suggest gifts for you, which you can approve.
Tip 4: Diversify your wishlist
What you have on your wishlist can significantly affect the amount of gifts you receive. Are you an anime fan? Chances are your fans are too! Make sure to add things that your community could like. Also, many fans will happily buy equipment to make your content better, so consider adding items that fans think are useful.
Lastly, don’t just add expensive items. Adding items with various price points will allow fans with more limited budgets to gift you things as well. It’s a win-win!
Tip 5: Ask for what you want, but don’t be too pushy
Asking for gifts in direct messages can be tricky and there is no right or wrong way to do it — after all, you know your fans best! However, our creators say that there are two ways which yield the best results.
Ask fans directly with an accompanying message such as, “I think this would really improve my content for you!”. A creator on our platform says, “Asking directly helps a lot, especially if it is something you want to wear”.
The second way is more subtle and allows fans to feel as if they are treating you rather than being asked for a gift. Creators advise to “make it feel natural and like it was their idea to buy you it”.
